Each year, Food & City Tours invites you to discover Strasbourg’s famous Christmas market by tasting seasonal delicacies. We want you to have an immersive experience: a guided tour in the heart of the old city’s Christmas markets that will allow you to discover the Christmas traditions of Alsace and the story behind the oldest Christmas market in France.

Book your Christmas Food Tour in Strasbourg!

While tasting Christmas specialties, your guide will explain the origin of the Christmas tree, traditional mulled wine, the recipe for gingerbread (pain d’épices), and even the famous Bredele (Alsatian Christmas biscuits) to name just a few. This tour is ideal for families, but also for couples spending a romantic weekend in the Alsatian capital.

It’s easy to get lost, because there are more than 300 chalets! Your guide will enable to experience the Christmas market through the eyes of a local from Alsace. The market’s legends and little-known stories might even give you a sense of childlike wonder, if even just for a while. As well as learning about the history of Strasbourg, you’ll also thoroughly enjoy yourself at the same time, so why miss out?

Delightful food tour through the Christmas markets

We had a great time with Virginie tasting our way through the Capital of Christmas. We opted for the full gourmet tour and it was so much more than just the food. She’s very knowledgeable and obviously loves her city. Highly recommend! Lesley V., December 2016
